BIRD DOG TRAINING
Our training curriculum has been developed over decades of training, hunting and guiding with bird dogs. It was begun in the 1950s by Delmar and Ronnie Smith Sr. and implemented by our family in multiple facets of the bird dog world. Over the years we have continually modified and improved the system. Our training method is followed by people across the country and it's effectiveness has been proven time and time again. We believe our training method will bring out the best in your dog.
TRAINING SEMINARS
We offer bird dog training seminars across the country. These seminars help dog owners to gain a better understanding of their dog and learn how to train their bird dog using the Smith Method of Training. We focus on each individual dog’s mindset and how to communicate with that dog in a way that is effective and makes sense for the dog and the owner. Look up a seminar in your area!
APPRENTICESHIPS
Our bird dog training apprenticeship gives an in-depth look at all that it takes to run a professional bird dog training facility. The three month program takes place at our facility and gives attendees a solid foundation to begin training dogs professionally using our training methods.
BIRD DOG BOARDING
We are able to offer boarding for sporting dog breeds. If you are going away on business or vacation, this is a chance for your dog to enjoy themselves as well. We have a brand new facility on almost 400 acres in Osage County. Your dog can enjoy daily runs in our airing yards and, if previously trained at Smith Kennels, your dog can also have outings on birds.
