A Premier Outdoor Couples' Retreat with Bird Dogs, Fly Fishing, Shooting and Unique Experiences in the Osage!

***This event has passed, but there will be more opportunities to participate in events like it! We will be announcing the itinerary for our October 14-16,2022 event soon! Save the date on your calendar!***

For the past few years our little bird dog mecca in Osage County has provided guests and clients respite from the fast paced hectic world. The bluestem covered prairie hills dotted with oak groves is a place where you can sit on a rock ridge and let your mind relax as you watch the colors of the hills morph in the evening light. It is a place that offers a fun, relaxing environment to work and learn more about the bird dogs we love so much. Inspired by people's reaction to the area and their enjoyment of working dogs here, we have decided to offer a wholly unique Osage outdoor weekend retreat to help people hone their skills and create their own upland adventures. We are fortunate to be able to bring on some extremely talented people in the industry to create a memorable, multi-faceted experience that incorporates all of the outdoor elements that we have a passion for.

The great outdoors provides incomparable opportunity for adventures. Our group of instructors will focus on helping attendees achieve their outdoor adventure goals. We will spend a fun-filled weekend combining in-depth coaching on living and hunting with your bird dog and instruction on shooting and fly fishing. Both Ronnie Smith and Susanna Love will be tailoring instruction to help individuals with their dogs in the field. Stephen Haynes, founder of Dog Specialist, will be available to help individuals with home training or obedience needs. Reid Bryant, Endorsed Operations Manager at Orvis, will be giving fly fishing instruction. Shooting instruction will also be provided on Saturday by Greg Carpiniello, Gun Room Manager at Orvis. Joni Nash will be on hand for the weekend as hostess and event coordinator.

Attendees are encouraged to bring one of their own pointing bred dogs to work with during the weekend. There will be opportunity to get some bird work in with your dog each day. The weekend is designed to help attendees with all aspects of living and hunting with their pointing companion. There will be instructors dedicated to both field work and home obedience skills.

These private coaching sessions are balanced with a taste of the Osage. On Saturday afternoon participants will have the opportunity of a private tour highlighting Osage County history at Woolaroc Museum. Woolaroc is a 3,700 acre wildlife preserve in Osage County that was established in 1925 as the personal ranch retreat of oilman Frank Phillips. Woolaroc is a testament to the unique lifestyle in the Osage during that time and also a museum with an outstanding collection of western art, artifacts, and one of the finest collections of Colt firearms in the world. Part of the tour will include a behind the scenes tour of the private rooms in the Phillips' lodge. Osage County is proud of its history and heritage and we look forward to sharing this experience with you.

The ultimate cowboy luxury lodging will be provided at the Pioneer Woman's Boarding House. This small town, boutique hotel contains 8 luxurious rooms that have been personally designed and decorated by Ree and Ladd Drummond. Rooms at the Boarding House have been known to book 6 months out in less than an hour and we are fortunate to have been able to secure them for this event. The day's activities will culminate with private dinners created by the Pioneer Woman's Mercantile at their special event center in downtown Pawhuska.

This unique weekend retreat offers a taste of the very things that makes Osage County so special. This is a small group event, catering to each couple's needs. There are only a total of 7 couples' tickets available for this event. Only one ticket needed per couple.
