Spend the weekend learning about the nature of bird dogs and how to train them successfully. During this seminar your instructor will walk you through the first stage of the Smith Method of training your bird dog, the Foundation Level.This is the hub of the entire training method and all training disciplines build from what is taught at this stage.
Hands on training will begin at 8:00 Saturday and Sunday mornings. During the seminar your instructor will go over the Foundation Level of training in depth and get you going through each of the steps with your dog. There is plenty of demonstrations, group sessions, and hands on learning. You will work on bird introductions, checkcording to birds, pointing, honoring, recalling, heeling, and general behavior issues. Your instructor will teach you to start reading your dog's behavior and help you to understand what your dog is truly feeling. Seminar sessions will adjourn at 4:00 pm.
