Ranger is a classy white and liver ticked male. He gets his name because he was wanting to "range" before his eyes were even completely open. He was the first pup to figure out how to get out the dog door to the outside and he has continued indicate that he will be a "go to the country" kind of dog.
This is a very classy looking puppy that appears to be almost a mirror image of his sire. He is the alpha pup in the litter. We recommend that Ranger go to a serious bird hunter who will appreciate his personality and desire to "go."
Ranger has had a great start in life and has the potential to be an outstanding bird dog. He will be available to serious hunting homes only. Preference will be given to homes that will give him the most opportunity, development, training, and experiences.
The dam of this litter is our dog Georgia (registered "Faith on the Prairies") who has been a family favorite since she was a pup. She has always been that dog that loved to come in the house and lay down with the kids to watch a movie. In the yard, she's happy-go-lucky, just wanting to enjoy herself and retrieve a few things! In the field she has been one of those select dogs that we have leaned on to create great experiences for our clients. Georgia is level headed, easy to work with and handle, is classy on point, and is overall nice to have around. To say the least, Georgia is the type of dog that works in our lives and we'd like to have a few more of her!
Georgia's pedigree goes back at least five generations of our hunting string and at least 8 generations of dogs that we have trained and hunted. She is a granddaughter of Funseeker's Rebel (2007 National All-Age Champion and Purina All-Age Dog of the Year). Also in her pedigree are notable dogs and field trial champions such as Dunn's Fearless Bud, Sir Lancelot, Nemaha Dime, Phantom's Wizard and Elhew Seahorse.
When we began looking for a match for Georgia our first phone call was to Bob Konz of Hackberry Kennels. We asked Bob to tell us which dog in his facility he would recommend for us to breed to. Without reservation he said he felt very confident in the pups his dog, Hackberry's Elhew Chief, was throwing and that Chief was a top notch wild bird dog. We had a match. Simple as that.
Chief is a large framed liver and white dog with loads of style. He is a grandson of Elhew Hitman, a great-grandson of CH Elhew Explorer. Chief is a grandson of famed HOF CH Sunflower (blue hen and daughter of HOF Elhew Snakefoot). Elhew Snakefoot was one of Bob Wehle's more notorious Hall of Fame dogs and he shows up in Chief's pedigree multiple times. His picture and pedigree are available on Hackberry's website.
Ranger will be picked up at RSK upon purchase. All travel arrangements and expenses will be the responsibility of the new owner. He will go home with with a Puppy Development DVD, bowl, water jug, and a small bag of the feed that that we recommend, Purina Pro Plan.
Ranger goes to his new home with full registration through American Field Stud Book, current on shots, wormer, and have dewclaws removed.
