Fall is a special time for bird dog trainers. It a season full of preparation and anticipation. As cooler weather rolls in we get a little extra pep in our step and an added twinkle in our eyes knowing that hunting season is approaching. A general rule of thumb is that dogs are ready for training at around a year of age. However, there is no magic age. Whether or not a dog is ready for training has to be measured on an individual basis.
